Part-Time Course The Alpha Canine Professional Part-time Dog Trainer Course begins in March 2012. Short-Intensive Course The 2 week Alpha Canine Professional Short Intensive Dog Trainer Course will be run in March, July and November in 2012. Available to both Internationally based and Australian based students. This course is a great alternative for those unable to attend the part-time option. The hands-on nature of all ACP courses create learning opportunities that are practical, relevant and unique within our industry. Professional Canine Handling Courses are designed to give those who work with dogs on a daily basis that extra understanding of canine behaviour and recognition of the resultant body language that is vital for safe and effective control in potentially stressful situations. These courses are based on our effective handling, training and behavioural modification skills that have been successfully utilised in many different professional applications and compliment the standard industry training in various fields.

The various courses are taught through the combination of our dynamic Practical Canine Theory modules and in what we call our hands-on, Real-time Handling Classroom, where students learn to apply relevant techniques and principles on real dogs in varying real-time situations. This way students gain realistic skills and confidence through actually working with dogs whilst they learn, allowing them to question and be questioned as they make judgements, again, in real-time, in real situations, with real dogs!

Courses are held at our full-time dog boarding and training complex located in the Dandenong Ranges. Facilities include an all-weather training arena and modern classroom/multipurpose room and many different training areas that constitute the Real-time Handling Classroom.

Professional Canine Training Courses are multifaceted and are aimed at both those who have training experience and those who have no previous experience at all, but have a drive and desire to become true professional dog trainers. Our courses cater to both individuals and groups who are looking for new and effective training and behaviour solutions to improve their own personal or team skills.

The courses can be tailored to suit your circumstances, teaching our systems in a manner that will complement any existing skill set, regardless of experience!
